Director's Message

Dear Prospective and Current Families,

On behalf of Dos Palos State Preschool, welcome! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Priscilla Gomez and I am your new Director of Early Childhood Education. Although new to the position I am not new to Dos Palos. I am a proud Dos Palos native and I have had the joy of beginning my career here as a special education teacher and coach. As such, I have had the pleasure of working with many of your families already and am excited to continue to do so in a more impactful way.

You will soon find we are a nurturing community of teachers and staff, parents and children — an extended family committed to creating a safe, fun and meaningful early childhood experience. Together we instill and celebrate a life-long love of learning and friendship.

Children at Dos Palos State Preschool are treated with respect, consistency, and encouragement. In this warm environment, children experience playful and developmentally-appropriate learning each day as they grow and blossom. Our number one goal is to inspire exploration and learning. Dos Palos State Preschool staff and parents partner closely to ensure the best preschool experience possible for each child. Communication between parents, teachers, and administration is ongoing. Parents are encouraged to be a part of their children’s school lives through involvement in all school events, monthly parent meetings, Parent/Teacher Conferences, and all in between. I invite you to come see our school and meet our teachers at your convenience. I look forward to meeting your child and family in person!

All the best,
Mrs. Priscilla Gomez
Director of Early Childhood Education

EDUCATION SERVICES

The Preschool offers learning experiences for you and your child through classroom activities, parent involvement, health, nutrition and social services. Parents are as important as their children at the Preschool.  Parents help by participating at the Preschool, enjoying special parent activities and helping to make decisions about the Preschool Program.

The Preschool’s educational program is designed to meet each child’s individual needs.  It also aims to meet the needs of the community served and its ethnic and cultural characteristics.

Every child receives a variety of learning experiences to foster intellectual, social and emotional growth.  Children participate in indoor and outdoor play and are introduced to the concepts of words and numbers.  They are encouraged to express their feelings and to develop self-confidence and the ability to get along with others.

The Preschool program has a low child-staff ratio. Staff members receive training in child development and early childhood education.
